SLO

SLO stands for Operational Eligibility Certificate (for electrical installations) or Operational Eligibility Certificate (for environmental activities). This certificate serves as formal proof that an installation or activity has met standards and is declared safe for operation or operation. It is a mandatory requirement for continued operation or new connections.

For electrical installations

– Definition: Official proof that an electrical installation has been inspected and meets established technical requirements, making it suitable for use.

– Purpose: To ensure the safety of electrical installations for users and prevent potential accidents such as fires. It is a mandatory requirement for new electrical connections or continued service.

– Obligation: Every electrical installation must have an SLO, both for low and high voltage. Failure to have an SLO is subject to fines.

– Process: Testing and inspections are conducted by a Technical Inspection Institution (LIT) appointed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, such as PT. Inspeksi Kelistrikan Indonesia or Serkolinas.

– Validity Period: An SLO has a validity period and must be extended or renewed if there are changes to the installation or when it expires.

For the environment

– Definition: A letter stating that a business or activity has met the Environmental Protection and Management standards as stipulated in laws and regulations.

– Purpose: To ensure that the activity does not have a negative impact on the environment and complies with all existing regulations.

– Example: Can refer to technical approval and operational feasibility certificates for activities such as the collection of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (LB3).
